Exporting a collection of pictures from iPhoto.
Often our digital cameras save pictures that are huge in size. So big that you can't see the whole photo on the computer screen. iPhoto will re-size your pictures for you so it's easy for your audience to view them. We'll do this as we export the pictures. To export you need to:
  1. Looking on the left hand side of iPhoto, click on the album you want to export. Once you've done that click on Share > Export (this is File >Export on older versions of iPhoto. everything else is the same).
  2. When the Export window pops up, click on the top called Web Page. All the settings here are probably right. The only this to check is in the area called Image (lower right) make sure the max width: is set to 640. If all is well, click export.
  3. The familiar "save" window will pop up. You can just save to your desktop. If your desktop is cluttered, you make want to click "New Folder" first to put these exported files in. Name it wahtever you want and click OK.
  4. iPhoto will run the export. When it's done, quit iPhoto.
  5. Click on the back button above and go to the section called"Uploading a collection of pictures to an Urban Planet Photo Gallery."
