Uploading a collection of pictures into an Urban Planet Image Gallery.
Now you have exported the pictures from iPhoto and saved them on to your desktop. The next move is to load them onto your website. Before you start you should have or know your Urban Planet user name and password (the one you use to work on your website). Once you have it, do this:
  1. Find the folder you just created on your desktop. Double click to open it.
  2. (If you didn't create a new folder, start here!) Look for these four files or folders: Desktop - Images, Desktop - Thumbnails, Desktop - Pages, and Desktop.html.
  3. The only one we are going to use is Desktop - Images. The other three you can drag to your trash right now.
  4. Click once on Desktop - images to select it. Then on the menu on the top of your screen click on File > Create Archive of "Desktop - Images". Now you will have a file called Desktop-images.zip on your desktop.
  5. Launch your browser (recommended: Firefox). Log in to your website by going to yourschool.spps.org/admin and entering your name and password. Find the page from your list where you want to add the photo gallery. Click on it. If you don't see it, click on the + sign to expand the list.
  6. Once you are on the page, click Edit then click Image Gallery from the list on the left hand side. Click Add New, add your title and description if you want to, change Summary Images to match the number of pictures you will have on your Gallery, click on Browse, find the file called Desktop - images.zip, click Open, click on Upload.
  7. Here's where you can add captions to each photo and turn them if they are on their side.
  8. When you are done click Apply, Apply, Save. Click View Site to see how it looks. Click on the back button to return to admin. Log out.
  9. You can always edit your Image Gallery later. Use the On/Off button to control the access.
  10. Congratulations!
